I have a fun fabric project to show you today. This one is using the "Fruit Basket" and "Vegetable Harvest" sets from the Shady Tree Studio line at Cornish Heritage Farms. I made these tea towels and then stamped in Versacraft ink from Tsukineko. I colored the images with my copic markers. I used scraps of my Michael Miller Fabrics and tied the colors together with hot ribbon by Junko. I carry one of these along with me to certification events so you may have seen one up close.

The tradition lives on....early in the season Grandma is out in the pumpkin patch scratching the names of each grandchild into the pumpkins...as they grow the name scars over the pumpkin. We all LOVE that! These now sit at my front door....my most favorite of all our thanksgiving decor....Thanks Grandma!
Here is my son with his pumpkin. We could only bring one of his home, the other one stayed in the field...it was HUGE! Too heavy to bring home:)

These are fun pumpkins that I made out of wire from the hardware store today....I know, no stamping, no paper but they are cute so I wanted to show you! It may be too soon for my Canadian friends to make these for thanksgiving but my American friends have time! I bought the wire for an eventual leaf wreath that will adorn the front door but these pumpkins are for centerpieces on my table for thanksgiving dinner.
Here is a little close up of the pearl leaves. They are just beads strung on a light gauge wire and then I formed them. The "black" wire is some remnants that I had that I just twisted around my pencil and then stuck in place.
This is the whole crew (My hubbies side) and getting this photo wasn't actually too bad! There sure are a lot of us!

for puppies. Our little Lucy (she is a havanese) is in her last week and this is how she is spending her days. Sleeping, sleeping and more sleeping. She seems to be pretty tired. Her "due date" is on Wednesday so needless to say I haven't been going anywhere in case she goes into labor. Oh, the little puppies will be so much fun! They are only born between 4-6ounces so like little mice with fur.
Yes, I'm back at it! How could I resist playing with some of my new Christmas toys! I decided to join in on Julia's ways to use it challenge today. I used my stazon to stamp this "rain or shine" image from My Favorite Things. Did I use copics???.....no.
I wanted to show you a close up of all the raindrops on my acetate layer, they have a neat shadow effect, just like you are looking out a rainy window.
My daughter's party is over so it was time to whip out our Christmas decorations! I enjoy the change in season and all the pretty things I have to pull out. Some of my favorites are the skates (that I wore as a child) hanging off the birdhouse and all the red berries in the wreath and garlands. I thought it would be fun, instead of a card post, to show my home at Christmas.
Here is our tree filled with decorations the kids have made and that we have collected through the 14 years of our married life. What a joy to go through them every year and reminisce. Lucy even sneaked her way into this photo.
I must quickly take photos before the snow is gone tomorrow, or looks like a mucky mess. For today, the scenery is gorgeous! The tree branches droop with the heavy wet snow. My poor little landscaping lights are drooping too. It is all very pretty so I am sitting at my window enjoying the view. I am so pleased I don't need to travel anywhere today.
Just a quick personal post! I was so proud of my girls today, they finished 1st in their season ending tournament! They were so fun to coach!
Here are some of the Thanksgiving pics I said I would share. Today's card is on the next post so feel free to scroll down. The kids LOVE going to the farm. Grandma and Grandpa really put their hearts into making each holiday memorable. This first picture is a fun "dress up" group shot. My daughter Marie is in the wedding dress (my hubby swallowed hard when she put this dress on) and my son Daniel is in the yellow shirt. The rest of the children are their wonderful cousins! I think it turned out great amidst the chaos.

Grandma scratches in the names of all her grandkids on the pumpkins when they are small. As they grow the letters scar over and monogram the pumpkin....very cool! This one is Daniel's.

Finally, Daniel with Grandpa. We were blessed with a wonderful fall day (hence my son is squinting). It was a memorable day filled with blessings and the joy of family company.
This is a "must have" as we embark on the camping and road trip journey. We all know that it is all about the food! My family has certain "requests" and this is one of them. I already made a large batch of banana chocolate chip muffins. I just have some squares to do yet and we should be set with the goodies. This recipe I found among my mother's things, long after she was gone. It is funny how some foods just take me home. My grandmother made them regularly as well and kept them in an ice cream pail in the freezer. I used to sneak down to the basement quite often and snitch a couple. Yes, these do taste WONDERFUL with coffee!
Jam Jams 2eggs 1c. brown sugar 1c. shortning (crisco blue box) 6tbsp syrup (rogers) 2tsp. baking soda 1tsp. vanilla Flour to make a soft dough (3-5c.) Cream together your shortning and sugar Add the eggs, syrup, and vanilla Sprinkle in the soda Gradually add the flour, just enough so that the dough pulls away from the perimeter of the bowl. Roll out to desired thickness and cut into shapes. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 7 min (or until lightly golden brown) Sandwich your cookies with your favorite homemade jam. I love raspberry, nice and tart!
What a glorious day to ride bikes! We did about 10 Kilometers with the kids and the weather was wonderful. I love these days that aren't really hot yet. So here are a couple after shots.....take into consideration serious helmet hair! Yes, we wear the helmets, there is a lot of traffic and we want our kids to wear them therefore.....we gotta wear them too.
