Christmas gift, Lucy and a card

Yes, I'm back at it! How could I resist playing with some of my new Christmas toys! I decided to join in on Julia's ways to use it challenge today. I used my stazon to stamp this "rain or shine" image from My Favorite Things. Did I use copics???.....no.
Prismacolors????.....no
Chalks????.....no
My new watercolor paints????......ding,ding,ding....I sure did!
My hubby bought me this wonderful set of watercolor paints and this is my first attempt, so be kind. I used Papertrey cardstock and I think this will become another coloring "go to" for me. I used my trendy Amy Butler DP and created a window frame with an acetate window to look outside.
I used my SU oval punch and a few nestabilities to layer up my tag and some ribbon to top it off.
I wanted to show you a close up of all the raindrops on my acetate layer, they have a neat shadow effect, just like you are looking out a rainy window.

Here is a look at one of the many cool gifts I received this Christmas. It is an easel of sorts. My hubby found it at a local art shop and it is perfect for all the coloring that I do. I no longer have to hunch way over my table but rather color quite comfortably on an angle. What a great gift for me. I am 6 feet tall so this will definitely save my back! What did you get for Christmas, I'd love to know!

Yes, my pregnant Lucy got to come to Grandmas for a little while too! We felt so guilty leaving her out of all the fun and the kids enjoyed seeing her. Lucy's little brood should be coming at the end of January....that will be exciting!
I have so many exciting projects I'm itching to share with you all....stay tuned....January will be great!

Happy Stamping!

Hi Sherrie! Your coloring on this card is beautiful and those raindrops are the icing on the cake!!! I love your coloring easel as well -- what a wonderful gift. I'm very excited about a gift I am going to be getting from a good friend -- she ordered me a book on how to watercolor - now, for you that is probably not too exciting, but for me -- the stamper who avoids coloring at almost all costs -- it is a much needed gift -- LOL!!! I can't wait to get started!!! You're never to old to learn -- right???

I'm not very familar with watercolor paints or anything like that. I came across this searching for Amy Butler. You did an amazing job. Great job with the raindrops. I love the look of the card and of course the use of the Butler pattern.

love the raindrops! Did you use a drop of Diamond glaze to do them? Too cute, and great job coloring with your new toys. My DH has an old drafting table stored around here somewhere, maybe I should drag it out to my craftroom.

Sherrie, your art table is wonderful. I'm sure it will become your prize possession before long. I love how the raindrops came out.

Please do tell me about Lucy, I'm as interested in the animals as I am in the cards, etc.

Oh I fell in love with Lucy way back when you first got her. My goodness, she has grown and will soon be a mommy. How I wish I could have dogs where I live, because I would fly right over and snatch up one of her little darlings. Do you plan to continue to breed her?
