Sketch Friday!

Happy Bloomin' Friday! I was in the mood for something bright and cheery and Cosmo Cricket's Line of "DeLovely" is perfect for that!
My main image is actually stamped in versamark and then heat embossed with clear detail powder. I wanted to be able to color these blooms and not have a black or brown line, rather a white one to match the patterned paper I was using.
The stamp is one large one from Stampendous.....er...it is a flower that starts with a "R". Ranunculous?...I know I am spelling that wrong.

I love the "painted" quality these flowers have that are colored with my copics.
NOTE: only use CLEAR embossing powder when trying this in combination with copics. If you use a colored embossing powder your copics will pull the pigment out of it and smear it all over your image....not the desired effect.

Photography speak.....I bought a new lens for my DSLR. It is called the "nifty fifty" a 50mm fixed point lens that has a 1.8 F-stop. This is great for photographing my cards....nice crisp card, very blurred background. A great little lens for just over $100. Seems to be very nice for low lighting settings too....I hate using my flash.

Off to enjoy a beautiful weekend here on the west coast. Summer has finally arrived and it is a wonderful temperature....not too hot with a slight marine breeze.....heavenly!

More Stampendous!

Hi! Back with more Stampendous fun today....Love these little "build your own scene" kind of sets....this one was perfect for making a shaker card filled with little micro beads. Colored in with my copics of coarse!
I combined a few stamps for this card. A beautiful wood mounted sentiment, a clear flourish set and butterfly set....a little bit of glitter for the butterfly too.
I went for a clean simple look here....love the butterflies stamped in vanilla pigment ink. The main butterfly I stamped into my essentials glue pad then covered it with stampendous glitter.
This was my favorite one of the lot....My life as a taxi driver these days! Yes, the monkey is waving out the window...not gesturing (lol). I paired this image up with Cosmo Cricket "boyfriend collection" paper.
Ending with something simple and sweet. The fun little stamped trail behind this bee made me think that she needed a trail of jewels too!
So there you have it...another five cards in one day, now if I could only create them as fast as it is to post them....now that would be the ticket!

Stampendous Catalog

I had fun creating some cards for the new Stampendous catalog! Today and tomorrow I will show you some of the fun stuff I created!
Who doesn't love robots? I wanted to make a valentine themed robot card. This is a set where all the pieces are stamped separately so that you can "build your own" robot.
I used copic markers to color these cute metal bots....
This cute changito monkey is one of my favorite characters in the stampendous line. Here is a little bit of a "scrappy" card with Cosmo Cricket's Cogsmo paper collection.
Here I mimicked the shape of the changito using my nestablities from spellbinders. I wanted a cleaner look that focused on the image and the coloring.
One of my favorites where I used a piece of denium and incorporated it into my design. I also added a little bit of stampendous' flock to the changito. A definite "touch and feel" card.

Summer Bouquet

What are some of your favorite things about summer? Mine has to be the flowers and sprays of color that the summer months bring! I wanted to create a tapestry of flowers for today's SCS limited supply challenge. This is a spray of many different stamp companies that I colored with my copics. I love the difference in scale on this card between the flowers and the little (A Muse) girl picking them.
Here is a quick picture of some of the supplies I used. I picked all these stamps up this summer and love em' all! It is so fun to color them any color I see in my mind's eye. If I haven't sold you on copics yet you really need to take a close look at these fabulous markers, I haven't had artistic training, they just require a little practice and then they are really easy to use! Still a little Dirty

I'm still completing some cards for the "Dirty Dare" challenges. This one was for Jacksonbelle and Julia's sketch. Stampendous ruffle flower (that I love!) colored with my copics. The patterned paper is Basic Grey (Scarlet letter). The tags are Martha Stewart and the sentiment by MFT. You need to head over to My Favorite Things and check out their FOUR new releases! Color challenge

The colors you can see on my card were the color challenges today on SCS. Cool Carribean, Marigold Morning, and Pretty in Pink. Quite a springy color palette. Love my ruffled flower by Stampendous!

Fleur

Something about this flower is so light and romantic to me. I love all the ruffles! My backdrop pp is MME. I used the fancy pants stamps to add a little romance and stamped the sentiment in the corner for balance. The flower I colored with Prismacolors and blended. I added some glitter and stickles and ribbon from my odds and sods mason jar. Just a quick one but I wanted to show it to you!

Two more additions

These are number 2 and 3 for the CPS sketch contest. I decided to do one with a very clean look (the leaf) and one with a shaded fall look (the flower). I had a lot of fun with this sketch if you want to see the layout and info on the contest click here.
