Summer Bouquet

What are some of your favorite things about summer? Mine has to be the flowers and sprays of color that the summer months bring! I wanted to create a tapestry of flowers for today's SCS limited supply challenge. This is a spray of many different stamp companies that I colored with my copics. I love the difference in scale on this card between the flowers and the little (A Muse) girl picking them.
Here is a quick picture of some of the supplies I used. I picked all these stamps up this summer and love em' all! It is so fun to color them any color I see in my mind's eye. If I haven't sold you on copics yet you really need to take a close look at these fabulous markers, I haven't had artistic training, they just require a little practice and then they are really easy to use! Savvy Infused

I had a little more time to play this afternoon, isn't it fun when we get a chance to do that! I picked up this stamp when I was in Seattle. Love the savvy flower stamps line. This goes great with a modern feel or a vintage one that I created here. I used my new little pack of papers from Basic Grey. This is the Infuse line. I masked the flower then stamped SU canvas BG stamp over to create a mesh look to match the DP. I colored with copics (what else! LOL). The blending and shading is coming easier the more I practice. I used my MM distress tool and then went to town with Tim Holtz distress ink and a sponge. Love that stuff! I drew attention to the corner with some hardware and extended that Martha Stewart tag so it would fit my MFT sentiment. Nifty little trick....I tied it all up with some twine from the hardware store. That's it! I love the old look!

Polka Dot Parade

I did a dozen of these and they were a ton of fun to do! Loved using the polka dot theme. Start to finish they took me about 1 1/2 hours...not bad considering there is coloring and sewing involved. The flower/gift shops will be getting these this weekend.

Here is a close shot of the card. I used the Savvy banner stamp that was part of another set for the A Muse elephant to hold. I received this wonderful polka dot ribbon in some blog candy from Alli at Card Metaphors. I colored it with my copic to match the pink elephant theme. It is really quick and easy to do when you used the chissel end of the marker. The DP is from that mega stack of patterned paper from Costco. I drew in the patch of grass and both sentiments are A Muse.

My sewing machine went into overdrive on these. I did a dozen. Great cheap adhesive....these things will NEVER fall apart! Have a wonderful weekend! Go Lions Go! (for my hubby who is a huge BC Lions football fan!)

Summer Mum

Here is the new stamp I told you about yesterday....I just love it! It is by Savvy, who does some wonderful flowers. This one I thought complimented my Amy Butler paper very well. I colored the image with copics and even the brads to match. This sketch is based on one of Amy's super Sunday Sketches, I used this to play along with Julee's Blogger Bingo. I am no where near bingo but it is a lot of fun! I realized today's color challenge on SCS was Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive. Wouldn't you know it, this qualifies and I love this color combo. You can see details to this challenge HERE. I used the WW punch to anchor my corners. I love to stitch, my sewing machine is set up right across from my work table, very convenient! The "thanks" sentiment is Impress.
Someone loves the lazy summer days! Think she could lay on the nice manicured lawn? No...... she needs to lay in the middle of my flowers! She's so cute, it's hard to be mad.

Julia

This is for one very special blogging friend, Julia. Julia lost her mom this past week due to cancer and my heart is very sad for her loss. I wanted to make something for her as she has been a great support for me as a new blogger. I rolled a few challenges into one today. This is based on the CPS sketch of the week. I wanted my center image to mimic the beautiful DP by Amy Butler. I used my stitched dalhia stamp by Savvy, masked and colored with prismacolors. I then sponged ink around them to match the pretty blue in the DP. I used my sewing machine to stitch around the circle....tougher than it looks! Added the MSE sentiment and stitched that on too. Topped off with a prima,ribbon and some jewels and I really hope Julia likes it.
