Creative Challenge Vintage

In 2011, MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a new monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we're exploring the lush vintage style. Please visit the MFT Blog to see exactly what we've been up to, you'll find a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge!
Welcome to my take on the Vintage MFT challenge.....truthfully I LOVED this challenge as I tend to go to the vintage style quite often. I did a few fun techniques in today's card so I thought I would include some step-by-step photos for your interest.
I am using one of MFT's newest releases "Inspired by Christmas".
I cut out the "Jingle Bells" music from the 12x12 patterned paper sheet of Melissa Frances. I then stamped my bells image from my stamp set in Memento Ink.
I stamped my sleigh in versamark ink and clear embossed it. A little hard to see in the photo but it is there!
I used Distress inks to sponge around my sleigh.
Added the sentiment and scuffed up the edges with charcoal versacolor ink.
Colored in my ribbon with my copic markers.
Dyed my white seam binding to match my project. In a ziploc bag add a few drops of copic color reinker, blender solution and add the seam binding. Squish the bag so all the binding gets dyed and then pull out of the bag and scrunch in a paper towel to dry.
Last step was adding a little touch of gold to my bells. I used the copic spica pen in gold. Here is the list of all of my
SUPPLIES
Here was my inspiration.....if you haven't bought this Christmas CD yet you are missing out!

Wow, just beautiful. Love how you clear embossed the sleigh. And, custom coloring your seam binding is fabulous. I must buy some seam binding to do this with. TFS.
