Tag-a-long Day 4 and MFT Teaser!

DAY 4 of the Holiday Tag-a-long and it is time to get inky!
This tag is ONE layer although it has great depth to it when you look at it. It is adorned with another set that is due for release on Dec 1st. called "Inspired by Love" in the Inspired By line at MFT!
Here is a close up of the little heart this bird is toting. It was cut out by the new heart trio die from the Die-namics line at MFT. The pattern on the heart is also one of the stamps in this set.
Had to take a close photo of this lovely verse as well. Here we go with some more step by step photos!
First I covered my #8 tag with sand colored Glimmer Mist and then dried it with my heat tool.
I then stamped my "Cherish" sentiment with versamark ink and embossed it in clear powder.
I laid this tattered angel stencil over my tag and sprayed with green and red glimmer mist.
Sponged the edges with vintage photo distress ink.
I outlined my bird image with a chocolate spica glitter pen. It adds more sparkle and definition to the bird
I stamped the verse at the bottom and added some trim.

To get the "CHERISH" word to really pop I removed the embossing powder by pressing it out with my iron and a paper bag.

Tag-a-long Day 3 and MFT Teaser!

DAY 3 of Holiday Tag-a-long.....are we having fun yet? Today we are working with one of my favorite things.....FABRIC!
So much chocolate and so little time....oh how true. This darling new image from My Favorite Things is called "Sending a Box of Love" from the Pure Innocence line. It, along with other cuties, are being released December 1st!
Here is a close up so you can see the dimension of the fabric and those sweet little chocolates!
I simply took my #8 tag and a piece of batting and some of my favorite pretty fabric and stacked them together on the tag.
I used my tag as my guide and just stitched around the perimeter to secure the fabric and batting.
This is the backside of what it looks like after stitching.
I take my FABRIC scissors and trim off the excess and then use my crop-a-dile tool and add an eyelet to the top.
I used my "Polkadot Greetings Die" and cut out a piece of X-press it Blending card and stamped my image.
Here are the copic colors I used to color her.
I colored up the pearls I wanted to make "chocolates" with my E29 marker.
Sew on a crocheted trim piece.
I stitched on my colored image too.
I decided to make a ruffled flower for the top of my tag. Quick and easy using the "rolled rose die" to cut my fabric.

Tag-a-long Day 2 and MFT Teaser!

DAY TWO of my Holiday Tag-a-long!
This feels very festive to me. This is "Ice Skating Flopsey" that will be released December 1st at My Favorite Things. The snowflake at the top is just the perfect size for tags with a hole in the middle and everything. It is part of the "let it snowflake" die from MFT.
I colored him with my copics and airbrushed the background...let me show you how!....
I used three colors from a natural blending group to airbrush the background of this tag. First off the darkest at the top BG78.
A midtone....BG75.
The lightest of the three BG72 (LOVE this color).
I wanted to create little mounds of snow at the bottom like it had been cleared for the little ice rink. I used post-it notes that I tore to create the hill then sponged in snow cap pigment ink and then embossed it with white embossing powder.
To give a little definition to the mounds I took my BG72 and dusted just the tops of my mounds.
I did this process a few times moving up the tag.
I stamped my rink on a piece of white scrap paper, shaded a little with my copics and then used glossy accents to both attach it to my tag and give a glossy finish to the top.
The gloss wasn't quite enough punch so while the it was still wet I sprinkled glitter around the edges and set aside to dry while I colored flopsey.

Blended together.
I stamped my skating flopsey on my tag with black ink so that things like the fringe of his scarf and his skate blades I would not have to cut out by hand.
Laid my colored image overtop of the stamped image and voila! Makes me want to go skating!
The snowflakes and sentiment that were embossed on the tag were from another flopsey set called "Snowflake Flopsey".

Tag-a-long and MFT Teaser!

DAY ONE of my tag-a-long! I have had a chance to really play this week and the tags you will see will vary in styles....Clean,Vintage,Fabric,Inky....a little of everything!
In the next few days I have My Favorite Things teasers in combination with tags. This first tag is one that I will attach a bag of cookies or goodies for my kids' piano teacher. I went with a fun vintage theme.
I used one of the sentiments from My Favorite Things set "Clearly Sentimental About Teaching" that will be released December 1st! You can click on the photos for a closer view. Here is the "How To":
I first covered my #8 tag with patterned paper (Cosmo Cricket's Boyfriend Collection).
I have this old Heidi book from the second hand store and it has some great vintage illustrations and nice bold text. This book is reserved for tearing out pages and using text :)
I used my "Stacking Stars" Die-namic from MFT directly through my tag. I kept the solid star punch through at the top as it will also serve as a place to thread my ribbon later.
I used the punched out stars from my die and placed them on the opposite corner with some repositional adhesive. I then airbrushed a little G40 to match the green in my illustration.
Here are the little pieces of text I cut out. They are going to mimic a book.
I just stacked them up and then zipped them through my sewing machine to hold in place.
Why waste those cute punched out stars. I decided to staple them with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher to frame my sentiment.
Last little touch....sponged some soot black ink around the edges.
