Card/Bookmark

It seems a shame that cards often get thrown away....so I really like to make cards that people with either keep or maybe keep parts of....
In this case I made a cute little puffy bookmark that can be kept as part of a gift!
I used today's SCS sketch challenge as my springboard for layout. The bookmark part I actually embroidered while watch last night's "Biggest Loser".
****a little aside, did you guys watch last night and am I the only one that was bothered by the smugness of Vicki?*******
I stamped the image in chocolate brilliance ink and then heat set it with my iron. I just stitched (very basic like) around the perimeter of the image with embroidery floss. Then I took my copics and colored in the insides....using R81, E31, R29
Here is a shot of them seperate...the card still looks cute even without the bookmark....
This will be perfect for my daughter and I call her "girly" all the time!

Here is a close up of my very crude stitching, it doesn't have to be precise to look adorable!
Here is something else this card showcases.....a new sentiment stamp set that is being released tomorrow! It is called invitation essentials and has all those "dates" that we look for when doing party invites for birthdays, anniversaries etc.

Here are all the card deets for today:
Stamps:
Little Gal (Kim Hughes Collection), Invitation Essentials (Mona Lisa Moments) by Cornish Heritage Farms
Ink:
Chocolate (Brilliance), Black, Snowcap Adirondack Pigment ink (Ranger)
Paper:
Urban Prairie Patterned Paper (Basic Grey)
Accessories:
Copic Markers, White Fabric, Cotton Batting, Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Flower (Prima), Brad (Basic Grey), Ribbon (Making Memories), Paper Frills (Doodlebug), Sewing, Embroidery Floss

Very cute and what a great idea! I stamped a bunch of these images yesterday to use, just haven't colored or put anything together yet...need to.

Anyway, the bookmark is adorable!

What a great idea! I love the look of your stitching, and the puffiness of the bookmark, and, well, everything about it. :)

Great idea! I agree with you about Vicki. There is something I don't like about her either.
