Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 23!

Happy 4th of July to all my American friends!

A special cupcake friday where I went with a patriotic theme. This is all stamping, no designer paper here. I used a technique that I haven't used in a while...bleaching. For the background layer I first stamped it with my new ScrapblockTM (daisy chain) then in the corners I dipped my (beautiful) stamps in bleach and then stamped them on my red cardstock.....I just love the vanilla color that came out! It reminds me of cosmo crickets' Christmas paper. For my three items down the side (like you see on the sketch) I decided to use my sentiment. This is a (motivational centers) sentiment and then I cut it up and staggered it down the side.

The main image is a part of the "hometown pride" Thomas Kinkade image by Cornish Heritage Farms. I only colored the flag with copics. For a final touch I stitched it in place with vanilla thread.

Here is the sketch that Taylor provided. I used my gingham ribbon for the piece across the middle. Here are the links to the other cupcake samplers:

Stephanie Hargis: Steph's Stampin' Stuff

Vicki Chrisman: This Art that makes me Happy

Jami Sibley: More is More

Mary Jo Albright: Beauty Lies Within

Monika Davis: M.A.D. Stamper

Lynn Mercurio: Stamperosity

Ana Wohlfahrt: Ink A Stamp

And the drum roll please.....The feature cupcake sampler this week is Michelle from "Just Painting Around"

I hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend!

Check back Monday to see the fun Challenge Chicks post!
