Rain or Shine

It is countdown release time at MFT! Yay! In all my posts this week you will find the products listed at the bottom of the post. Release Day is April 8th 7PM (PST). For all the daily inspiration be sure to check out the MFT blog

HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS....are you ready for something really artsy??????
This is a wall canvas that I created while I had some time to "play" today! Here, in the Pacific Northwest, we get a ton of rain....but there are so many things that are beautiful about the rain.

I started off this canvas by using paint....to paint the white highlight area (in the shape of a raindrop) and then add some paint around the outside in blues, reds, yellows, aquas....etc.

I made my little umbrella with the new "Layered Umbrella" Die-namics and covered it with glossy accents. Placed it on my canvas and then used watercolor to color in the shadow. I stamped the sentiment with the new "Blue Skies Ahead" sentiment in pigment ink and then heat set it.

My last and TOTALLY FUN step was to take my copic reinkers and drip them on the canvas...so cool! I had to totally let go of control on that one! I also went with the new opaque white bottle and drew in a few highlights of drops with that white as well. This worked out so well due to the fact that the alcohol ink sits right on top and doesn't try to blend with the acrylic paint....love that!

I really liked the play of this and it makes a great little interesting art addition to our home.

Shabby style is on deck today showcasing another way to play with the brand new "Layered Umbrella" Die-namics! This sweet umbrella cut from Melissa Frances patterned papers looks great shabby style! The sentiment is also from the new "Blue Skies Ahead" sentiment set.

Since we use umbrellas ALOT here....I can see using this die quite often...lol!

Below is the inside where I debossed the "Layered Umbrella" Die-namics and then stamped another great sentiment!
Here are all the products available April 8th!

Really, not one comment. That canvas is stunning. Love it. And the card. while the polar opposite of the canvas, is also amazing.

Wow! The canvas is awesome, great rain-like drippage and the umbrella is gorgeous against that backdrop. The Melissa Frances' papers card is also gorgeous in that shabby style.
