Creative Challenge Felt!

Who likes to play with felt? I certainly do....I love to make so many more things than paper projects alone. There are so many pretty colors to choose from at My Favorite Things!

This months' MFT Creative Challenge is to use our felt stash to make some fun projects. You can find all the participating designers on the MFT blog.

I was actually really in need of the first item I made....I often throw my iphone into my purse and if I continue to do this I am bound to scratch up the face. I didn't want a cumbersome case but rather a sleeve that I could quickly access my phone.

I chose nightshift blue felt as my base....I just measured my phone and cut on my rotary paper cutter my base....just a wee bit larger than the phone itself. I cut out little half circles at the top using my Circle STAX Die-namics so that it would be easy to grab my phone out of the sleeve.

I decorated the front using one of my favorite flowers from MFT the Winter Rose Die-namics, added in a few Royal Leaves and a single Butterfly Bliss Die-namics.

Be sure to sew the zig-zag stitches along the tops before sewing up the sides....much easier! You can see that mine wasn't quite snug enough so I did an extra stitch down each side to make it fit my phone just right :)

My next little felt project is pretty simple and sweet. I have lots of fun little stick pins that I forget to use on projects because they are in a drawer! This fun little pincushion adorns my desktop now :)

I took sno cone felt and cut it out with the Heart STAX Die-namics. I stuffed it with some spare stuffing from an old pillow and then did a blanket stitch with embroidery floss around the edge...stringing a pearl bead on every stitch.

The full list of felt colors and Die-namics are listed below for both projects!

We are in California enjoying some vacation time!

Enjoy your day and I hope you have been inspired to play with some of your felt today!
