It's VIP time at My Favorite Things! I am SO craving the sunshine right now. This is just the cure for the rainy season....make something sunny!
I have seen this kind of sunshine theme done on stamps, in patterned paper and from scratch (like I did here). All I did was flip some patterned paper over to the "wrong side" and take a ruler and draw diagonal lines of varying widths to a central point. So I moved one end of the ruler and kept the other end on a fixed point. I then simply went to my paper cutter and cut along my pencil lines. I then tacked them in place on my card front and cut away the excess after they were glued down. A little bit of stitching just helped in securing the pieces.
Below is a photo of the copic markers I used to color up this "Surfer Chick". I did some feathering on the surfboard with the BG 70's and the E40's to give the board that water weathered look.
