Sizzix Fresh Vintage Blog Hop: Scoreboard Butterfly

I am so thrilled to be invited to the Sizzix Fresh Vintage blog hop! These are dies manufactured by Sizzix and designed by the talented Eileen Hull! This hop includes 75 designers that takes place over a period of 6 weeks! Every Tuesday and Thursday there is a new die featured. Today it is the "Scoreboard Butterfly"!

I decided to create a pretty frame from the Mat Board pack that sizzix carries. Beautiful, chipboard weight mats that come in a multicolor pack.
I have this photo of my daughter that I love....I caught her gazing at the parade in Disneyland and I adore the expression in her eyes.
Here to the left is a closer shot of the chipboard butterflies I created. I used the solid portion of the die to cut little crepe paper backings.
All the patterned paper, crepe paper and jewels are from Melissa Frances.
I've attached a tutorial of step by step photos so that you can create your own frame too!
Here are the supplies I used.
***Mat Board and Scoreboard Butterfly die by Sizzix
***5th Avenue Patterned Paper, Crepe Paper and Trinket jewels and broach by Melissa Frances
***Matte Multi-Medium by Claudine Hellmuth for Adhesive
***Glueber by Cosmo Cricket to create my crepe paper flower
***Sentiment Stamp "Inspired by Butterflies" by My Favorite Things
I cut a piece of mat board 6"x7" and then drew a center section leaving a mat of 1.5" all the way around.
I cut the mat board in my paper trimmer and then used a blade and ruler to cut the corners.
Here is the front, I saved the cut out piece to use as my stand when my frame was completed.
With my leftover piece of mat board (6x6) I sponged on my multi-medium adhesive and adhered my Melissa Frances patterned paper.
Here are the three pretty butterflies that I cut and the crepe paper solid butterflies. This thick mat board cut like BUTTAH!
I finally dressed up my butterflies with a few Melissa Frances jewels. I love that these butterflies are scored along the body....this way I could fold up their wings :)

Thank you for joining me today on this hop! I know you will find plenty of inspiration by hopping around and seeing what the other designers came up with today. CLICK HERE for the start of the hop!

I love how you paired the matboard with crepe paper, what great contrast in textures. Your daughter looks a lot like you!
