Valentine cake

Oh, I am so pleased with how this turned out! I had this idea in my head and just needed the time to put it down on paper. I wanted to play along in February's flourishes cake contest you can find the forum HERE. I used their cake decorating 101 set to create this yummy cake! The cake is made with liquid applique.

Here is a close up of the "frosting". I covered it in brown applique first, then did a series of large white dots on top of the brown. I then took my piercing tool and dragged it through the white circles to create hearts. Finished it off with pink liquid pearls and some flowers and my cake was done.

NO PUPPIES YET! Can you believe it? She is lactating so we are just WAITING. My prediction is Super Bowl Sunday.

Is there anything you can't do?!? I LOVE this card!! The colour combo, the patterns on the paper, the ribbon, and especially the cake ... everything is perfect! The sentiment you used sums it up perfectly ... your card is "absolutely fabulous!" I can't wait to see you guys in less than 2 weeks. Maybe we can sneak away to your craft room while our hubbies visit. I can only imagine the inspiration I'll get!
