My Work space

OK, you asked to see it, so here it is! In all it's glory (lol). My little space is in the basement of our home. I enjoy this little getaway spot and have come to like all it's little eclectic accents... like my husband's model train hobby that is right beside this. I don't have a fancy table and I am so glad! I love this old solid core door that has legs put on it. I can cut on it and stamp without worry. The best thing is that there are no hollow spots or dips, this table is very "true" so I can stamp without anything underneath and get a great image every time! I keep my ribbon scraps in mason jars. The fuller spools are in my drawers. My father in law made the wonderful shelf unit to hold my more used wood stamps and accesories. I have my copics at my fingertips and I just love my tonic cutter. To the left is a wall of corkboard that I have some of the cards bloggers have sent me as well as some things that inspire me.
I have a separate little desk for two of my very important items. My sewing machine and cuttlebug. I don't think I would use them nearly as often if they weren't out and ready for me. You can see I have a very simple sewing machine, but this baby has pumped out numerous quilts and projects and now is designated for my cards. Love the Janome!
My little photography studio. Kim sent me this DARLING pink OTT light. Wow, what a difference good lighting can make! My camera would normally be perched on this tripod. It is a simple set up but very effective, and always ready when I want to shoot a photo.
This is my favorite furnishing in my work space. My hubby designs homes and they used to do all blueprinting and these would be the units they stored their large sheets in.....UNTIL computers. Everything now is stored on disk so no more need for these drawers. I was happy to get my hands on them and they are wonderful for my needs!
I am opening my drawers to you! Yes, it is a little messy, but somehow in this chaos I still can find everything I need. Well, I hope you enjoyed my little peek. I think the true trick to any setup is to keep changing and tailoring it just for you. My room is ALWAYS evolving....due to more and more stuff! LOL!

Thanks for letting us snoop around your stamp set. I would love to have a chest of shallow drawers like that!! They are so pricey.

You lucky duck! What a great creative space you've carved out for yourself.
I love the door desk idea and the ribbon bits in jars.
But tell me where do you keep your copics?
