Countdown Day 7 Something for the kitchen!

It is Countdown week at MFT! Yes! Another release is coming your way March 11th 7pm(PST). You will find links to my project at the bottom of the post. I have a fun inspiration week planned! You can find all the designers participating in today's countdown on the MFT Blog!

Kicking off the week with a project for the kitchen. I always drool over the great tea towels on Anthropolgie's site. They are pricy though, so I made this one for Easter at a FRACTION of the cost!

You can purchase flour sack cloths (plain white tea towels) at places like Walmart and Target in a bunch for just a few dollars.  They are my blank canvas!

I love to use my MFT Die-namics and accessories for SO MUCH MORE than cards.

I put together a little tutorial below to show you how I did this:
I first started off by applying a line of high tack adhesive just below the sew line of the hem. I use my X-press it tape, works fabulous!
I added some fun pom pom trim. This is from Melissa Frances.
I added another layer of tape to the top of the pom pom trim and tacked down my Jelly Bean Ribbon from MFT.
This is the only stitching on this project. A simple zig zag to secure the ribbon to the tea towel.
I lined some fabric scraps with fabric adhesive from my 12x12 Xyron machine. You can also add "Wonder Under" to the fabric instead. Either way will work on this project. I ran this sweet little new bunny from the "Easter Bunny" Die-namics through my die cut machine several times to gather 10 bunnies.

Peel the backing from the fabric to reveal the fabric adhesive and just press into place. If you desire to have them secured a little stronger then iron them on.
These sweet bunnies needed little puffy tails....so to match my project I snipped the pom poms off my ribbon to make the little tails.
Here are the little tails secured with a hot glue gun. I hope todays' project inspires you to make more projects with your MFT Die-namics!
Products available for release March 11th!

I love it! You've got me thinking in a whole different direction. Using the poms from the trim for bunny tails is precious.

Love that you chose to profile this crafty item instead of a card. I just finished making some baby onesies for my niece and I think this bunny die cut would be perfect too! Thanks for sharing this with us - love the tea towel idea - this is a really cool hostess idea for Easter dinner.

Ok, I am in love. This has got to be the cutest project EVER!! I, too, drool over the Anthropologie towels every time I go in there. I need to make some of my own now.
