Day 2....and my heart is a flutter....ok, couldn't resist the pun :)
You can NEVER have enough butterflies! I find I use butterfly stamps and dies all the time! I did some fun techniquie kind of stamping while playing with this new "Winged Beauties" stamp set.
First I used the Winged Beauties Die-namics and cut out the front panel. I used a pencil to trace where my stamped images should go on the under panel.
For the stamping, I sprayed my craft sheet with both Lettuce and Wild Plum Adirondack Color Wash and dipped my butterfly stamp in it...this leads to an imperfect but stunning stamped result. NO two butterflies are ever the same.
You can see a closer shot of just the butterflies to the left. Below is a look at the inside!
I cut out those pretty butterflies from my card front panel....might as well use one on the inside....This time I dragged one of the new BONUS "Large Scale Backgrounds" through the remainder of the ink on my craft sheet to stamp my butterfly die.
Note:
You qualify for this bonus "Large Scale Backgrounds" set with the purchase of $60 or more! There are 3 awesome bold patterns!
The sentiment stamped in yes.......beautiful Sweet Tooth Pigment ink that I am sure you probably picked up last month (if you didn't this stuff is AWESOME)!
Here is another Winged Beauty card to show you.....while I had my kraft sheet out an playing with technique. I thought I might as well do a little resist technique.
I stamped all the butterflies with Whipped Cream Pigment ink and clear embossed them. I then dragged my cardstock through the adirondack color wash that is on my craft sheet. Be sure to soak it well. Then I cut out my panel using the new Fancy Ticket STAX Die-namics and mounted it on a Fuse Green cardstock base....do you see one more Die-namics sneaking its' way into the background? Yes, that is a Mini Chicken Wire Die-namics!
OK.....SUPER FUN SHARING TIME IS NOW!
I have been DROOLING over all the super cute wood veneer embellishments that I have been seeing everywhere....but haven't been able to justify in my head buying a whole pack and only using a few from the pack! I think it is the "menno" in me. Sooooo.......
Why not make your own? I have a few sheets of Real Wood paper that I have been hoarding for just this purpose. I backed my real wood paper with an adhesive sheet (I have X-press it adhesive sheets) and then put it through my die cut machine with ANY of the many Die-namics I already have! I then cut another butterfly in kraft cardstock....peeled back my adhesive sheet and stacked them one on top of the other.....nice and thick! If I want a really thick little veneer I would do this maybe 3 times for the right thickness.
I took my copic marker to the light birch veneer that I own and made it a little darker. I also went around the rim to give it that cut look and the marker bleeds into the wood grain a bit too.....SCORE!
Look at this pretty stained wood veneer butterfly for the inside.....Just love it! I will be buying some more real wood paper so I can do this with many more of my Die-namics!
Here is my full supply list that is available on September 3rd!
