VIP time at My Favorite Things! I am SO craving the sunshine right now. This is just the cure for the rainy season....make something sunny!
I have seen this kind of sunshine theme done on stamps, in patterned paper and from scratch (like I did here). All I did was flip some patterned paper over to the "wrong side" and take a ruler and draw diagonal lines of varying widths to a central point. So I moved one end of the ruler and kept the other end on a fixed point. I then simply went to my paper cutter and cut along my pencil lines. I then tacked them in place on my card front and cut away the excess after they were glued down. A little bit of stitching just helped in securing the pieces.
Below is a photo of the copic markers I used to color up this "Surfer Chick". I did some feathering on the surfboard with the BG 70's and the E40's to give the board that water weathered look.
Be sure to check out the rest of the design teams' creations. You can find the whole list on the MFT blog!
