Teaser Time with My Favorite Things!

Back again with another teaser for Januarys' release at My Favorite Things. As you can already tell I am loving the new "Layered Heart" Die-namic...especially with this "Bunch of Hearts" flopsey! This Die-namic has little holes all the way around which I used to sew embroidery floss.

In the picture to the left is a close up of one of the "Mini Wavy Pennants" Die-namics that is being released this month too! Perfect for little tags and such. Below are the copic colors I used for flopsey and the details for this month's release.

Teaser Time at My Favorite Things!

Welcome to the start of the January teasers for My Favorite Things! Today I am showcasing "Who's that Parisian Girl?". I actually trimmed her out of the frame she is mounted in on the stamp so I could mount her on my "Layered Heart" new Die-namic die. That sweet "Eiffel Tower" Die-namic is new this month too. Oooh-la-la! Below are the copic colors I used to color her up and the details of this month's release!

A Merry Little Christmas

One last project to share with you before Christmas. I made these fringe trees to dress up my dining room hutch...they are so pretty and full of sparkle. The directions on how you construct the base of these trees you can find on the Melissa Frances blog HERE.

These trees are adorned all with Melissa Frances products. The trees are quite pretty with all the little jewels and Christmas frames acting as ornaments.

Wishing all my readers....a Very Merry Christmas! See you all next week!

VIP Product Tour

It is mid-month VIP time at My Favorite Things. Can I admit that it was nice creating something non-Christmas for a change? Tonight there are 2 Pure Innocence character sets in the VIP KIT....plus an awesome extra sentiment set to go with them and a fabulous Die-namic!

I used "Plane Amazing" and decided to make a shape card. I cut out a cloud on my cricut to the size of a standard card....once in my patterned Cosmo Cricket paper and twice in white card stock for my base. You see the little scoreline at the edge of the card? That is where all my layers are adhered to open the card.  I also used the Flat-Bottom Clouds, First Place Award Ribbon and By the Numbers Die-namics to complete the card.
Below are the copic markers I used to color up this cutie image.

So here is a look at what is all included in the VIP kit!

Make sure you go and check out all the inspiration with this brand new collection from the MFT design team! You can find the list on the MFT blog.

I will have one "Christmas" post before the big day and it is a really pretty project! Be back soon!

Lovin' from the Oven

Who says you shouldn't love with food?...Pish, posh!

Who wouldn't love Toblerone wrapped in butter?

I have been making these cookies for a few years now and they continue to be a big hit with our family.

Here is the recipe if you are interested:

1c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/4c. cornstarch
1 and 1/2 c. of flour
Toblerone chocolate bars

Cream butter and sugar together. Add cornstarch and flour while the mixer is going. Put a teaspoon size ball of dough on a cookie sheet. (I have one of those nifty scoopers that I fill and squeeze the handle to drop out the dough). Squish a toblerone piece of chocolate in the center and bake at 375 degrees for 14 minutes. Yummmo.

I combined these cookies with some jam jam's I made earlier for a little cookie gift bag for our tenant. So to pretty up the presentation I used a collection of My Favorite Things Die-namics and Stamp sets. I KNEW these stamp sets would come in VERY handy at Christmas time.
The whole list of supplies is at the bottom of my post.
Paired up with some sweet Melissa Frances "Home for the Holidays" collection and resin pieces.

Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Time to play along with the MFT sketch this week! If you look at the sketch (at the bottom of my post) it is crying out for a sentiment based card...well....I didn't feel like doing a sentiment based card but I still wanted to play. I laid the sketch on its' side so that I could do an image based card...because I wanted to color :)

I love this little "Christmas Caroler" mainly because I get to play with a radial light source. You will notice in my copic coloring that the objects closest to the candle flame are the lightest in value and as the objects are further from the flame they increase in value (get darker). I took a photo of the marker colors for you to see. The Y21 next to the Y23 is a custom blend marker (1 part Y21 and 1 part blender).
The full list of supplies is at the bottom of my post.

I will point it out...a little oopsie with my R89. I didn't let my background coloring dry before going in with my R89 to do the cast shadow on the shoulder of her dress. As soon as that R89 touched the wet background it wanted to spread! Lesson learned....again....be patient when working with reds...they are volatile!

Another sweet Christmas card to add to my stash :)

Here is the sketch so that you can play along. The details and the list of designer samples you will find on the MFT blog.

Snow Much

Are your kids ready for some snow? Mine have been wishing for it this week. I think it helps in the Christmas mood creation too.  This looks like the last BUSY week before Christmas so I have something quick to share with you today and then I am back to "checking my lists" and doing some more prep for Christmas!
No snow on the ground here yet, but I created some in my studio today! This is a newly released Pure Innocence snowman from My Favorite Things. All the links are at the bottom of my post.

This picture to the left show you one of the sentiments that are in this stamp set and I made a little North Pole sentiment with the mini pennants Die-namic die. I layers it up a little to make it more dimensional.

I cut the main circles for the shaker card with some circle and scallop nestabilities that I own. The plastic front is some recycled scraps from packaging that I found in my garbage can.

I love this new wonky scallop border too! I cut it out of felt and then added some silver glass flakes.

Enjoy your monday!
Here is a shot of my shaker card....shaken :) See the pretty silver flakes mixed in with the white mica flakes.
