Cupcake Friday's Are Back!!

Yeah! Cupcake friday's are back after a wee break. What is as good as cupcakes? Fruit in season!
My counter is full of fresh local fruit. I have the Lapin cherries (we already have gone through a 20lb case and are on our second one....now there's a master cleanse Carole...lol). I also have fresh apricots, plums, blueberries and raspberries. Fresh carrots from Grandma's garden...well you get the picture.

I wanted to show you a close shot of my little copic colored fruit basket. These images are from the Shady Tree Studio line "Fruit Basket" from CHF. I did some quick masking with a post it note to layer my fruit. The cherries were colored on white card stock then cut out and paper pieced over the fruit bowl.
I colored these trying to keep a "50's" feel to my card as I wanted it to match this awesome new Scrapblock. Guess what.....That scrapblock is released TODAY! I think it is my new favorite favorite scrapblock. When it comes to stamps I feel like a teenager, changing my mind on my favorites each time I see something new...giggle.
I used the "feathering" technique on a few fruit pieces. Notice the top of my apple is a little yellow and a wee spot of green showing on my pear. You don't want over ripe fruit...lol!
Here is the whole card. I added a strip of "early bird" patterned paper to add to the retro jive. Airbrushed the whole thing to age it a little.
Here are the complete card deets:
Stamps:
Newspaper Ads (Scrapblocks), Fruit Basket (Shady Tree Studio) by Cornish Heritage Farms
Ink:
Espresso Adirondack (Ranger)
Paper:
Early Bird (Cosmo Cricket)
Herb Garden Light, Espresso, Simply Smooth White (Prism)
Accessories:
Copic Markers
Air Brush System (Copic)

Circle Die (Spellbinders)
Ribbon

Here is the sketch so you can play along in TAYLOR'S challenge.

Mmmm... yummy! I can't say I have cravings for fruit and veggies often (what can I say?... I'm a sweets kinda girl!), but your fabulous coloring along with your description of all the fresh fruits and veggies on your counter is making me crave a carrot! :)
