Thankful Wednesday

There are so many people to thank at the end of a school year. One in particular this year led my daughters middle school musical. The kids were having a cast party so I knew I wanted to quickly make a card for this special music teacher. Who could resist this sweet little girl on the piano?!
Speaking of piano, my daughter just wrote her grade 7 exam! It will be nice for her to take a little break before diving into piano theory this summer.
I SEARCHED for a good sentiment...somehow thankyou wasn't quite enough....found this sentiment in the beacon of hope set from the "Scene it" line at CHF. Perfect!

Soooo, do you have music teachers in your lives? This stamp is awesome...it is big, simple, can be left uncolored and just antiqued....and best of all timeless and classic. Yup, this piano girl and tulip girl hold a very special spot in my stamping studio....

Here is a close shot of the coloring. My light source coming in from the left. If you click on this photo you can see really close the shading on her skin/dress/hair.

Here are all the deets:
Stamps:
Piano Girl (SEP), Beacon of Hope (Scene it) by Cornish Heritage Farms
Ink:
Tuxedo Black Memento (Tsukineko)
Paper:
Simply Smooth White, Black (Prism)
Vintage Paper (Prima)
Accessories:
Copic Markers
Airbrush System (Copic)

Flower (Prima)
Jewel (Making Memoires)

Tomorrow I go in to get my tooth repaired....I am hoping they can just replace the existing filling that is cracked. If it is really bad I'll be in for a root canal and crown.....ouch! So if you think of me, I'd love a little prayer, as I am a HORRENDOUSLY bad dental patient. Scary.....

Thanks for using this stamp - I have had it for awhile but haven't used it. I like the idea of leaving part of the piano top sticking over the card. I bought this because my husband bought me a grand piano several years ago and I have played since I was 6 or 7 years old. We both love this stamp and I'm going to have to find an occassion to use it. Love what you did with it.

That's a perfect card, Sherrie! I'm sure that you will get a lot of use out of that stamp.Congrats to M. on her piano exam and I will be praying for you tomorrow since I am not a keen dental patient myself...

Thanks for the reminder to use this stamp! I'm a piano teacher, and a have a new little granddaughter (15 months old) - her parents are both music teachers, so I'm sure she'll be playing the piano too! I'm an SU demo, so I don't buy a lot of non-SU stamps, but as you can imagine, I just HAD to have this one!

I'll pray for your dental procedure - just on Monday, I went for a "new and different" dental procedure - an implant! Basically I had a root canal and crown, but the tooth cracked and got infected. So they pulled it, and put a screw deep into the jaw bone - in a few months, then they'll put a new fake "tooth" onto the screw - bleech! They gave me laughing gas and it actually wasn't as bad as I expected, but I do look a bit like a lop-sided chipmunk now!

This is wonderful and I really like how you cut the top part of the piano from the image ... looks awesome!
I just spent a couple hours in the dentist chair yesterday ... "I feel your pain"! Saying a little prayer that all goes well!
