OK! What a way to celebrate friday....First off, it is my daughter's 13th birthday, it's cupcake friday AND I have a new image peek to share with you! Whew, where to begin?
Once again, I started with the sketch....then deviated a little...
I had this awesome large acrylic oval given to me in a gift bag and I thought it looked like a large egg, then I saw Taylor's sketch for this week and thought PERFECT!
This image is a peek of one of three new Saturday Evening Post images that are being released next friday (Dec 12th). I ADORE the vintage feel to this.
How to make vintage modern? Throw some modern colors at it! These sweet patterned paper colors are from Cosmo Cricket called "honey pie". I thought the stitching look in the patterned paper looked vintage but those are FAB-O colors!
To achieve this look. I first stamped my image on white paper (yes that was white paper) and then colored the image with my copic markers. I then created a mask out of a post it note and sponged in the background color to match my patterned paper. To adhere it to the acrylic oval I used glossy accents, it dries nice and clear. Added some vintage items like sewing and buttons and voila a MODERN VINTAGE easter card. Yes, I know it isn't easter yet....but it is never too early to start planning....look how fast Christmas crept up!
Here is the sketch so you can play along in TAYLOR'S challenge.
Don't forget to see what the rest of the cupcake crew came up with:
Stephanie Hargis: Steph's Stampin' Stuff
Vicki Chrisman: This Art that makes me Happy
Jami Sibley: More is More
Monika Davis: M.A.D. Stamper
