Lisa has done a STUNNING card with trees and a clear card that you can see HERE. I loved the idea of trees and seeing through the trees so from that card I incorporated that into my design.
Lisa also has a wonderful sense of whimsy, I love this owl card she did HERE. So yes, I created a hybrid card of the two and this is what I came out with. Love these new clear sheets that you can purchase at CHF, they come in 81/2 by 11, perfect for card makers because you can cut 2 cards from each sheet.
Here is a photo of my card when it is open. Love how you can look through the trees to see the cute little birdie. I used Stazon white to stamp the front trees. What is really cool (and I couldn't seem to capture it on film) is when you lay this card down the stamped trees on the clear sheet cast a cool tree shadow on the inside of the card. Now this wasn't something I had planned but just an added effect that I was pleased to notice!
One last shot so that you can see the inside of the card. You do have to open the card to read the sentiment and there is space on the inside here to write my little message. I am looking forward to hopping around to see all the fun "cases" today. I think pretty much everyone participated in this challenge....how fun! All their links are on my sidebar.
