For stamps designed by "Dirty Girls"! This was this month's challenge for the dirty girls. I have this fabulous background stamp by former dirty girl Lisa Strahl. I knew I had to have it when I saw it. It goes so well with ANYTHING nature related. Here I combined it with the Bird Lovers image from crafty secrets. You can find this backgrounder at Cornish Heritage Farms.
Lots of little techniques on this card. I inked the tree backgrounder in beige brilliance ink then covered it with Tim Holtz distress embossing powder (vintage photo). Love the texture to this ep. To make it look more bark like I made slits in the cardstock and curled it up a little to make it look like real rolling bark. It helped to use good Prism cardstock because I could separate the layers a little as I rolled it up. I also sponged a little extra distress ink (vintage photo) to the edges as well.
This main image I watercolored with my paints. I added a layer of crackle coating (ranger) and the final touch of some sewing in like colored thread. I can't wait to check out the rest of the Dirty Girl creations! You can find them all here.

WOW! WOW! WOW! I remember your crafty secrets bird card from this post. But it is absolutely a knock-out in person. Thanks for sending it to me. There is just something about being able to touch and feel a handcrafted work of art that is truly out of this world! You are an absolute creative genius to split and curl that paper like that with the woodgrain. And the teeny, tiny crackle on the bird image must have taken so much patience!
(just an FYI, the magazines must have fallen out of the package as the envelope arrived pretty banged up and looked like it had been resealed). But thank heavens not a scratch or problem with this card! Thanks for the RAK/blog candy, all along the prize for me was getting a card from you. :) Adelle
