I know these two words don't often go together but I think they are the perfect combo for this card. This is for today's sketch challenge over on SCS. I had to play with some of my new toys! First the center image is a heidi swap mask that I put on dark brown paper and then I covered it with my new Tim Holtz crackle paint (antique linen). Another "new" toy is my grunge board. Love these hinges, there are so many neat accents in the basic elements pack, so you will see a lot of those from me. I had scraps of Basic Grey DP kicking around that were a great match. Finally some sewing and a lock and key charm from the $ store.
Here is a close look at a couple of things. First, the cool crackle finish of the Tim Holtz crackle paint. It looks nice and old and weathered IRL, love this look! Secondly, the grunge hinge. Love this stuff too, I love the fact that I could bend it to give dimension and weather it with my distress inks. Yes, Tim Holtz is pure genius! You can check out his work on his new blog HERE.
Special thanks to all of you who viewed my video tutorial and left such kind comments. I will be doing this again in the near future! Thanks for the confidence boost!

Love the colors you achieved with the Tim Holtz idea, and the hardware is all perfect. The main image reminds me of an ink blot--LOL--no offense. All in all it is very pretty!
I love the distress paints. I used them alot for holiday gifts. You card looks amazing. I just got the grunge board elements and haven't played with them yet. Also got the hammer set that is waiting to be pounded. Keep up the great work.
