A Card and A Winner!

This card was done for yesterday's color challenge on SCS. We were to use sage shadow, rose red and apricot. Now that is a color combo!
I really enjoyed the papertrey release party the other night... more details on that further down. I had papertrey in my head so I pulled out a few sets and combined them. This is Green Thumb, Beautiful blooms and the cake set combined. I first stamped my leaves in the sage color and used clear embossing powder and set them. I then stamped my red flowers and the frame for my sentiment and embossed them with clear. I then brayered over the entire thing with apricot chalk ink, making sure to have my darkest color to the edges and have the sentiment area the lightest (to draw your eye). Topped off with some ribbon from the discount bin at Michael's and the sentiment stamped in black chalk ink (colorbox) and I was done! I think it has a neat mod look.

OK, now the cool thing about the papertrey party. There was a lot of chit chat, but I seemed to be swept up in the conversation regarding Beth Moore. Now, I had never heard of her, but the girls on SCS were RAVING about her bible studies and video series. I was really interested and asked my hubby if he had heard of her that evening and he just shook his head no. Wouldn't you know it, as I was making coffee for the women's bible study group (that is my role, I am the coffee lady), I took a look at the books on the table for the classes being offered this term and wouldn't you know it......A Beth Moore study book was staring me in the face. I just knew in my heart it was meant for me. This is the first Beth Moore study our church has offered.
To make a long wonderful story short, I left my first class yesterday feeling very loved and pursued by God. I am looking forward to digging into this study. So thankyou to the SCS girls that mentioned Beth Moore! I believe your comments were meant for me! You can find Beth Moore studies and such HERE. Love it when my worlds collide (my stamping and my Jesus).

Ok, last thing, the blog candy! Thanks for all your kind comments, looks like the majority of you want to see more coloring tutorials, so I will get working on that!
The winner of the candy is:

Hi Sherrie! Congrats on your hits! I love your blog. I love any tutorials. Sometimes it is better to see if it is a lengthy tutorial. SC does help a lot, but if it involves lots of folding..a video is nic. But I LOVE any tutorials. Getting one of your cards would be tops though!! Love your work. Chris

So drop me an e-mail Chris with your addy and I'll get this prize out to you!
Have a wonderful day everyone,
Happy Stamping!

Great card Sherrie. I am SOOO glad that we convinced you to seek out Beth Moore *smiles*. What an amazing lady...God's blessings at work.
I too am curious which study you are doing. I told you we were still deciding...well I found out last night we are going to study her latest called Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent. I can hardly wait to get started.

First off, beautiful card! Love your layout and how you placed the flowers. Second, I can't 'second' enough what people have said about Beth Moore. Her studies are so thorough...she has you flipping all through the Bible discovering things you never would have put together on your own. I'm currently doing "Believing God" and it is life changing.

I too did the Believing God study. I just love how she gets you right into the bible- since that's what a Bible study is all about, right?

forgot to say that you have a broken link to the Beth Moore stuff you wanted to show us.

You have a very inspiring blog. I check your samples quite frequently for ideas. I too have done several Beth Moore studies in the last 2 years. Our last study was on fruit of the spirit. We just started the Patriarchs - studying Abraham, Moses, and Isaac - very in depth study. I have grown so much as a Christian through these studies. It is a lot of study, but it is worth every minute you put into it. Praise God for giving us godly leaders. Let us know which study you will be doing :) Take care and God's blessings - Elizabeth in mid-Michigan

Oh, that is so funny, just today I asked my mom if she'd heard of Beth Moore, and she said, yes for the first time, the night before at her ladies Bible study! One of the ladies was raving about her and want to do a study by her. It sounds like she's worth a try!

Just read your information about Beth Moore. She's wonderful. If you get any of the Christian networks she can be seen on James Robison's Life Today.(I think that's the name of his program.) She's on every Wednesday with a Bible study. BTW, would you know of any online studies or blogs that one could hook up with? If anyone on here knows of any or finds any, loet me know. Thanks!!
