Color Challenge

The color challenge today was to put two colors together that I normally would not. Pumpkin and rose red, with a splash of celery. Now these colors don't sound appealing together. I guess I grew up believing that red and orange don't go. Time to get rid of past impressions. I love how these colors turned out! I wanted to play some more with the Lockhart stamps I purchased at Ellen's store last week and I also like to make sympathy cards when I don't need them....voila! I now had some inspiration. I colored my focal image first with copics and then highlighted the flowers with my new spica glitter pen (love this my glitter doesn't look gray!). I grounded the image with my C1 copic marker (cool gray).
I then used a series of nestabilities in the oval shape to mat my image. I pieced together this wild asparagas dp with a black base and then adhered it to my card base with stitching. A few finishing details like ribbon, MFT sentiment, dew drops and I am done.

Here is a close shot of the main image. There is a lot of very pretty detail in the stamp. I did use two tones of each color to achieve some shading.
Thanks for coming to look today and for the very helpful gift card suggestions from yesterday. I think I'm going to go with the book store gift card.

Happy Stamping!
