Metallics Take 2

I needed to give metallics another go around. I was not entirely pleased with my first attempt with aluminum foil so my mantra....try, try again. This time I grabbed my new toys (alcohol inks) and created this splashed coffee background on my aluminum foil. I then ran it through the cuttlebug with the swirls folder. The main image is from the coffee set by Crafty Secrets. I then searched for the perfect sentiment.....never far from my desk is the "essential sentiments" set by My Favorite Things. Perfect! I colored with copics then I layered it up using my nestabilities. (I think I mentioned before my love for these). I alcohol inked my hardware buckle and large brads to match.

The "icing on the cake" is my coffee foam. White liquid pearls, swirled with a drop of espresso alcohol ink then glitter for that finishing "sprinkles" touch.
I am much happier with these results, sometimes creating is EASY, other times it is a true process of trial and error. Today was a trial and error day. All part of learning.....I love it!

Happy Stamping!

Veery cool techinue! How does the ink stay on the foil and not smear? Maybe a missed a step n sealing it? Great work! Deb

Love this card -- such a warm and cozy feel to it, even though it's *metal* -- great job. Also, just want to tell you how much I LOVE your Blog header -- the colors and design are to die for -- totally fabulous and inviting!!! Did you design it yourself?

Hey Sharon, Yes, I did my banner all by my onesie! I was playing in photoshop and this is what came out. Thanks for the compliment on it!

Deborah, I had no issues with smearing. I just dabbed it on with the Tim Holtz applicator and then had lunch (let it dry) then came back and ran it through the cuttlebug...it was really too easy although I was going for the imperfect splattery look.

This is a great card! I've tried embossing my aluminum foil (heavy duty) from the kitchen, but it doesn't stand up to the procedure. There are lots of little tears in the foil, and I have no idea how to keep the image from being squashed down again. What am I doing wrong?
