Mr. Kinkade

Oh how I love a challenge. My friend has had this Kinkade collection on her shelf for a while. Every time I would visit I would look at the beautiful quality of these rubber stamps from CHF and think, oh, if I could only do them justice in coloring. Well today was the day to try! I had made up my mind that if I didn't like the results I would just rip it up and go on (lesson learned). I have seen MANY beautiful monochromatic versions of this stamp but in my mind's eye Kinkade is known for his color.

What coloring medium you may ask....well I have seen beautiful work with prismacolors and watercolor techniques, but I was determined that my copics can do anything!

I stamped this Thomas Kinkade stamp in Adirondack (espresso) ink and then slowly started...where to start! Ack! I have heard to start with the lightest parts first so that is what I did. For a final touch I coated it with UTEE and it has a very pretty glossy picture finish.

Thanks to my friend for the little push, it is really fun when something unexpected turns out so well. I just love to color!

Thanks for coming to look!

I'm also entering this in Julee's mojo monday, I do think I came up with some serious mojo today. Thanks Julee!

I know you did this awhile ago, but I just found it on the gallery. I have this stamp (my husband flyfishes) but haven't used it yet. I think I am intimidated both the stamp and the Copics. I got a full set for Christmas last year. An words of advice would be greatl appreciated.
