Embellishing

I have lots to share with you today....so go grab a java! First of all, it is so fun to be back at my table and creating, I was a little fearful that I wouldn't know how after being gone for 2 weeks! It did take me a couple of cards to get back in the swing. This card I created with the wonderful new release by My Favorite Things. Shower Time is a great little set with a lot of small pieces plus a large focal image to work with. The sketch I used was from one of my favorite sites. Card Positioning Systems (CPS) you can find the link on my sidebar. If you keep reading I do go into detail on the embellishments on this card. The patterned paper I used, that got me going with a color scheme, is Basic Grey (scarlet's letter). I colored the image and the little flowers with my copics....I can't stress enough how much I use these markers! They color embellishments (seen below) and they are quick yet very precise! I find that when I use black, the copics give me the right amount of vibrancy so that my main images are not lost, but rather, pop off the backdrop. You definitely want to give this sketch a try, it is fun!

***If you do this sketch challenge, please leave me a comment and I would love to come and check out what you did with this sketch!
I found this wonderful felt ribbon of flowers when I was in Archivers. My mind just started whirling with the possibilities! They are very easy to cut out individually and with so many shapes and sizes they are a wonderful staple to add to my embellishment stock. I loved the black, so neutral and elegant. You will see a lot of these beauties in my creations to come!

These pearls that you buy in the sheet from K & Co are wonderful! You get a variety of sizes and the backside is flat so they adhere well to flowers and directly on paper. I love it that I can color my pearls to match my project with my copics! Tip: color your pearls BEFORE you peal them off the sheet, they are so quick to color this way and you can be sure to color all the edges.
Here is a close shot of the decorative stick pin I created. Very simple but elegant. I love finding inexpensive ways to create a look that is my own! Tip: To keep the pearls from sliding off the end of the pin just add a little glue inside before sliding them on your pin.

This was a little long winded today, thanks for popping by, I truly appreciate it! Have a great day!
