Release Rewind

Time to take a peek back at this weeks' release at MFT! I saved something a little "different" for today :)

Here is my something "a little different". I went with the CAS style, when I received this months' goodies and saw the "Sailboat" Die-namics, all I could think of was building a boat in a bottle.

The cleanest way for me to acheive this was to simply draw one. Yes, I did it in pencil first, and then just went over top with my red copic multiliner. It didn't need to be perfect, actually the imperfect added a bit of whimsey to the card.

I cut the base and the mast of the boat out of some real wood paper that I had kicking around.

The sails are sticky back canvas that I shaded with my C1,3 copic markers.
I also stamped the little wheel from the "Go Overboard" set in electric red ink.  The sentiment is also from that set and I stamped it in both the steel blue and electric red ink.

On the inside I stamped the faint background with grout gray ink and then the sentiment with the steel blue and the electric red.

You know, I think this was my favorite card I made from this months' release....very clean and simple, but by drawing my own bottle I really made it mine :)

My next card is really fun.....I wanted it to look like she is in a ship in the water looking out a port hole. I used the "Let's get nautical" Die-namics for the port hole with some large pewter brads that look like rivets.

I stamped and colored the "Sailor Girl" with my copic markers and then laid a piece of acetate over the window and adhered it with a full layer of glossy accents. This created a neat window effect.

The background of the card was created with the "Making Waves" Die-namics sponged with a little sweet tooth ink.

The sentiment is from the "Sailor Girl" set but do you see the little row of bubbles beneath it? That is from the new "Borders and Accents" set.

The inside is nice and simple....echoing the front of the card with the sentiment and then the little added wheel too.
Here are the supplies that I used in both cards!

Wow. Using the wood paper and sticky back canvas for the boat was so clever! I love it! And your porthole on the second card is fantastic!
